2 Euro Commemorative Coin San Marino 2026 450th Anniversary of the death of Titian San Marino’s 2026 issue commemorates the 450th anniversary of Titian’s death in 1576. Known by the name Tiziano Vecellio, the painter was a central figure of the Venetian Renaissance and one of the artists who shaped its enduring place in European art history. The coin therefore honours Titian’s lasting significance for the cultural heritage of Venice through a focused historical remembrance. The planned design features Titian’s Allegory of Wisdom, a painting dated to approximately 1560–1565. The work is held by the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana in Venice. By selecting this particular composition, the coin links the anniversary to a documented example of Titian’s artistic achievement and gives the commemorative subject a clear visual reference.
