2 Euro Commemorative Coin Finland 2026 100th Anniversary of Yleisradio Yleisradio was established in 1926 as Suomen Yleisradio and evolved from a radio service receivable only in Helsinki into a nationwide public broadcaster by 1928; television transmissions began in 1957. This commemorative coin marks the broadcaster’s centenary and highlights its role in linking people through information, culture and journalistic output. The motif arranges equal, smooth circles on a rough‑matte field to form the letters yle, suggesting separate information bubbles that broadcasting brings into relation. The design is the competition‑winning proposal by Petri Neuvonen titled “Breaking Bubbles.” The obverse bears SUOMI, FINLAND 2026 and twelve EU stars around the edge.
