2 Euro Commemorative Coin Slovenia 2011 100th Anniversary of the birth of Franc Rozman-Stane Slovenian €2 Commemorative Coin 2011 100th Anniversary of Franc Rozman – Stane This coin honours Franc Rozman, known by his partisan name Stane, who was born on 27 March 1911 in Spodnje Pirniče near Ljubljana. After fighting in the Spanish Civil War, he returned to Yugoslavia and helped organize partisan forces following the occupation. From July 1943, he commanded the headquarters of Slovenia’s National Liberation Army and partisan units, making him one of the leading military figures of the resistance. Rozman died on 7 November 1944 from injuries sustained while a new weapon was being tested. Declared a national hero of Yugoslavia after his death, he became a lasting symbol of Slovenia’s wartime liberation struggle.
